If you have trained with me or elsewhere and have completed Level I, feel free to deepen your practice and take Level II at this time. For people in that situation, you may also repeat the Level I training for the reduced rate of $60.

Advanced Reiki Training is also $180 for 3 hours. If you have completed Level I and II and are not ready to go on to Master training, yet want just a bit more, ART is for you. And again, if you’d like to repeat Level I and II, the repeat rate is $60 each. Master training is $360 for 6 hours and includes ART within it. If you’d like to repeat ART and Masters, the repeat rate is $60 each.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a “hands on” Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. It is also been found to promote healing and reduce pain. Such techniques have been practiced for thousands of years. Rei means a universal or higher knowledge, or a spiritual consciousness. Ki is life energy, similar to chi in Chinese traditions, or prana in the Sanskrit of the yogic traditions. Reiki is a very simple yet powerful technique, passed on from Reiki Master to students in a series of attunements. Level I, II, Advanced Reiki Techniques and Reiki Master Trainings are available. Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1927) developed Reiki in the early 20th century. He was climbing Mt. Kurama while enrolled in a Buddhist training course and on the 21st day he received a spiritual awakening and discovered he had a healing energy in his head and hands. The Usui Memorial has a lengthy inscription that provides historians with most of Dr. Usui’s and Reiki’s history. In 1922 he established his first treatment center. The 1923 Tokyo earthquake and fire left many victims who were treated at Dr. Usui’s clinic. In addition to practicing Reiki as a healing cure on himself and patients, he taught and cultivated these five admonitions:

Just for today, I will not worry.
Just for today, I will not be angry.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

Dr. Usui initiated sixteen teachers in Japan. One of them was Chujiro Hayashi. It was at Dr. Hayashi’s clinic that Mrs. Hawayo Takata (1900-1980), from Hawaii, was introduced to Reiki and treated. Later, in 1936, she received her Level I and II degrees. In 1938 she received her initiation as a Reiki Master. She returned to Hawaii and set up a clinic. It was not until 1970 that she began initiating Reiki Masters. Before she died in 1980 she initiated 22 Masters who later introduced Reiki to North America. Even though the lineage is direct from Usui to Hayashi to Takata, many elements are thought to have changed because Mrs. Takata did not allow students to take notes or record classes. Today, practitioners and historians have researched Usui, Hayashi, and Takata Reiki Masters, Usui’s Memorial, and other documentation of Dr. Usui’s life to further their understanding of the lineage of Reiki.
