Pilates-based training is a fun approach to fitness that combines both Eastern (breathing techniques and mental relaxation) and Western (strength and endurance) concepts. It delivers an effective approach to health and wellness. Pilates is recognized as a very effective way to strengthen the entire body while increasing flexibility and elongating muscles at the same time. Endurance and concentration are also improved in a variety of athletic pursuits as well as everyday life activities. Rachel’s private pilates studio in Claremont, CA, is equipped with two full-sized Stott Pilates reformers with jump boards and boxes, two stability chairs, a fully equipped wall spring unit, bozus and stability balls, hand weights, and a variety of props. Her studio can accommodate one to four clients at a time. The Stott Pilates method uses resistance exercise and mostly non-weight-bearing forms to produce long, lean, strong muscles that support a balanced and flexible body.
New Online lessons in Mat Pilates are currently being offered. Mat Pilates can be done without any equipment at all, or can also include a few affordable pieces of equipment such as flex bands, small dumb bells, ankle weights, inflatable balls, etc. Click here for more information.
